RATNANAGAR, Chitwan, April 19: Two pumps in Chitwan have faced music for hiding petrol as it is promoting black-marketing in the district.

Police on Monday had monitored petrol pumps in Chitwan when petro supply was still a big problem in the district despite smooth distribution in other districts.

Chitwan District Police Office SP Basant Kunwar informed that the police confiscated 227 litres petrol in the hidden state from Abatar Petrol Pump in course of monitoring.

Police arrested Petrol Pump manager Ajaya Pawe after finding petrol being concealed and not distributed to the users and initiated action under anti black-marketing law, SP Kunwar further informed.

Likewise, police also held an owner of Shubham Petrol Pump and put forth necessary legal action after 75 litres of petrol was found stored in a drum for black marketing.

The users are still facing a tough time lining up before the petrol pumps for hours due to shortage of petrol. However, the supply of diesel is smooth in Chitwan.

The local administration has initiated monitoring when the supply was not smooth despite availability of petrol in pumps. RSS
