Acharya appointed chief of EPF

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The government has appointed Krishna Prasad Acharya as the chief executive of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).



A cabinet meeting held at Singh Durbar on Monday afternoon made the decision. [break]



Public Enterprises Management Board had recommended three names -- Acharya, Radha Krishna Pote and Sushil Aryal -- for appointment as EPF chief executive.



According to Finance Minister Barshaman Pun, the cabinet meeting also endorsed a directive relating to distributing identity cards to the poor.



Similarly the government promoted Senior Superintendent of Police Surendra Kumar Shrestha of Nepal Police to Deputy Inspector General while the term of Colonel Himal Thapa of Nepal Army has been extended by two years.
