AAN condemns decision to ban Avenues

KATHMANDU, July 29: Advertising Association of Nepal (AAN) has raised serious concern over two separate decisions of cable television associations to not broadcast programs of Avenues Television.



A press release issued by AAN on Wednesday has called this decision “an attack on independent media.” The release adds: “This kind of decision only infringes peoples´ right to information and tramples on democratic norms that promote operation of independent media organizations.”



The release also states that the decision to discontinue airing programs of Avenues Television will not only affect advertising business but the entire business sector.
