Aamir Khan's views on 'Intolerance' became a talking point for everyone. (My Wife Asks If We Should Move Out Of India, 24 November) At the 10-year celebration of Rang De Basanti, the actor finally spoke at length about the same. He opened up as to how he is deeply hurt by the whole episode, and how his statement had been misconstrued.

"What the common man was told about that interview was wrong. I never said it in that way, and never did I mean it like that. I have been born in this country, and I will die here only. I cannot stay for more than two months out of the country, and I long to come back home. How can I ever say that I want to leave India? What I had said, was misinterpreted and twisted. There were few people who understood me, as they had seen the interview. The rest know only as much they have been said by the media time and again. Yes, I was hurt, and not just I, everyone who was fed this misinterpreted quote was hurt," said Aamir.

Prasoon Joshi, who was also present at the event, stood by what Aamir said in his statement.
