A nominal rise: 176,871 tourists visits Nepal in past two months

KATHMANDU, March 3: Nepal welcomes a total of 176,871 tourists in the first two months of the year 2025.

According to the Department of Immigration, a total of 79,991 foreigners visited Nepal in January while the figure reached 96,880 in February.  The year-on-year statistics shows that tourists inflow grew only by 345 individuals compared to the number during the same period last year.

In the last one month, the visitors from SAARC countries declined by around 5,000. Compared to 35,000 visitors in February last year, Nepal received only 30,000 tourists during the same period this year.   

Last month, there was a notable incline in the number of visitors from the USA, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. In the review month, the number of tourists from these countries grew by around 1,500 to 12,560 individuals.

In 2024, Nepal received 1,147,567 tourists, a 13.1 percent increase from 2023. The country has marked 2025 as Nepal Special Tourism Year.
