KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Five persons were killed and eight others injured when a taxi carrying bridegroom met with an accident at Chihandanda area in Illam disitrict Monday afternoon. The taxi was heading for Panchthar from Bayarban, Morang.

Those killed in the accident include the bridegroom’s father Uma Nath Dahal and his sister Kamala Dahal.
The taxi (Me 1 Cha 643) met with the accident as it skidded off the road and fell 10 meters down, Nepal FM said.
Altogether eight injured including the bridegroom Nagendra Dahal, his brother Devendra Dahal and the driver Santosh BK are undergoing treatment at Kanchanjunga Hospital, Jhapa, and B P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan. Three of the seriously injured in the accident were rushed to BPKIHS, Dharan, after primary treatment at Kanchanjungha Hospital.
