4 Nepalis dead in J&K landslide

BIRGUNJ, Aug 7: Four people from Parsa district were killed in a landslide in Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said.



Those dead have been identified as Rajesh Prasad Kurmi, Manai Prasad Kurmi, Sheshnath Kurmi and Jayanuddin Kurmi of Dhobini VDC, said Sub-Inspector Yadu Rimal of Area Police Office at Langadi.



According to him, their family members said they had gone to Kashmir in search of work some four months ago. They were working with A to Z Tower Company in Leh district in Kashmir. Their friends working at the same company informed their families about their death.



A few other Nepalis were also injured in the incident. Kuldip Khoda, a police official in Jammu-Kashmir, said 59 bodies were retrieved from the landslide area while over 200 are missing.
