Similarly, the number of regularly operating FM radios has reached 335 and cable television channels has reached 759, said the Ministry of Information and Communications.
The government is learnt to have focused on making media houses inclusive after political changes in the country. The Gorkhapatra Corporation is disseminating news under different 30 mother tongues.
According to the Ministry, the Nepal Telecom has so far distributed 18,442,957 telephone lines of different technologies in the country. Similarly, the number of people using internet services has crossed 5.5 million. The Ministry has collected revenue of Rs. 2.54 billion in the first four months of the current fiscal year.
