33 dissent parties to submit protest note to EC

KATHMANDU, April 20: The 33 political parties dissenting on formation of the present government have decided to submit a protest letter to the Election Commission, demanding it to stop voter registration and distribution of citizenship certificate.



A meeting of the 33 political parties held at CPN-Maoist´s office, Buddhanagar today, decided to submit the protest letter reasoning their demands were ignored.[break]



According to the Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal´s General Secretary, Mani Thapa, they were urging the EC to stop voter registration and distribution of citizenship certificates as part of the fourth round of protest, and if EC ignored it, the 33 parties would obstruct the EC activities.



Similarly, they would hold discussion with civil society on the EC´s activities on April 27.



The 33 parties have also decided to submit a memorandum to the Indian Embassy protesting a rape of a Nepali woman in New Delhi and the illegal operation of an Indian Office in Biratnagar.



Demanding the removal of this government and cancellation of 1950 treaty with India, they are for organizing march-past from Mechi and Mahakali along with dignity rallies.
