The nominations for the different categories for the Awards were selected from the singles or albums released and registered within April 2012 to April 2013 at Hits FM. The internal jury had chosen five nominees for all the categories and the nominees were announced on August 3 on Hits FM 91.2. Further judgment process will be conducted by a panel of experts, who will declare the winners for the categories and announce during the grand finale. [break]
“We have been organizing the awards in order to support and felicitate the Nepali artists. We are really honored to do the same this year too,” shared Program Director of Hits FM Music Awards, Mandira Dhungel.
Hits FM 91.2 initiated the Awards ceremony in 1997. Since then, it has been hosting the event every year, promoting many talented Nepali artists. Initially having seven categories, the event now has 19 categories, including the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The finale will also be incorporating the joint performance by Kutumba, the traditional musical group and Hari Maharjan, the Gypsy jazz guitarist. Bishnu Chemjong, Miss Talent of Miss Nepal 2011 will be performing her nominated song Hawama. Joint Family Internationale, the reggae group including Sanjay Shrestha from the band 1974 AD will also be performing the song Neta Ji.
