Citing a huge gap between the demand and supply of power, the corporation said it was compelled to increase the load shedding hours. [break]
As per the new NEA decision, there would be 10 hours of power cut for three days, 12 hours of power cut for 2 days and 14 hours of power cut for three days, in a week.
"There would be 82 hours of load shedding in a week from Monday," said Chiranjivi Sharma, Chief at the Department of Power System Operation.
According to Sharma, there would be 10 hours of load shedding on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Similarly, 12 hours on Wednesday and Saturday while 14 hours on Friday and Thursday.
Currently, the consumers are facing 69 hours of load shedding a week.
Meanwhile, NEA will start repairing Madhya Marshyagdi power project that generates 70 mega watt of power from Janaury 22 for three weeks. This is likely to invite an even deeper power crisis.
