Australia battles ‘catastrophic’ wildfires as PM rushes home

PERTH, Dec 21: Australia’s most populous state was paralyzed by “catastrophic” fire conditions Saturday amid soaring temperatures, while one person died as wildfires ravaged the country’s southeast, officials said.
