As the country has adopted federalism, the concept of the local government has emerged. Based on the concept, local governments have been formed after the election. As the local governments have to generate the revenue source, they have started imposing unnecessary taxation.

Quarrying licenses on sale

KATHMANDU, Aug 22: A section of individuals and organizations that has access to power and higher officials has allegedly started acquiring quarrying licenses of various mines from the government and selling the same licenses to third parties at hefty prices.
