LOS ANGELES, March 11 (Reuters) - British-American filmmaker Christopher Nolan won his first Academy Award on Sunday, clinching best director for his historical drama "Oppenheimer" about the man behind the development of the atomic bomb during World War Two.

NEW YORK, July 7: Acclaimed film director Christopher Nolan turns his attention to J. Robert Oppenheimer for his new blockbuster movie, taking audiences back to when the American theoretical physicist oversaw the creation of the atomic bomb during World War II.

Over the past decade, there has been much discussion over the importance of 'intellectual properties' or franchises, superhero movies, and 'soulless' big-budget popcorn movies with zero substance, which have taken over from true 'auteur' filmmaking - according to some, at least. One thing is undeniable: you can be an auteur and put butts in seats, something which (unless it's the middle of a pandemic) you can associate with Christopher Nolan, as per the report of Collider.

Christian Bale said that he will only get back with the role of Batman in case Christopher Nolan directs it.

Actor Robert Pattinson, who is set to work with Christopher Nolan in the director's next venture, has described the script of the project as "unreal".
