The Walt Disney Co. has apologized to a California school that was charged a $250 licensing fee after showing the company’s 2019 remake of ‘The Lion King’ during a fundraiser.

The film, which opened to decent reviews, is performing remarkably well and has crossed Rs. 150 crore mark. The Disney remake has raked in a total of Rs. 150.09 crore in 24 days of its run at the box office. Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection on his Twitter handle.

If there was any doubt that the 2019 box office belonged to the Walt Disney Co., this weekend put an end to it. Not only did its photorealistic remake of “The Lion King” devour opening weekend records for the month of July and PG-rated films, but “Avengers: Endgame” also crept past “Avatar” to become the highest-grossing film of all time.

American actors Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen, who are co-starring with singer Beyonce in the recently released 'The Lion King', didn't meet Queen Bey until the world premiere of the flick, which took place earlier this month.

Beyonce, who landed her voice in the upcoming Disney remake 'The Lion King,' has also written and performed a song for the film's soundtrack. "We have all the original songs, but there's a song that she performed and wrote in the spirit of the production along with working with Lebo M., who's part of it with Hans Zimmer," People quoted director Jon Favreau saying during an interaction with Fandango on Monday.

LONDON, April 11: With stunning scenery of Africa and some talking wildlife, Disney dropped its first full length trailer for its realistic-looking remake of “The Lion King” on Wednesday, offering a glimpse of the highly anticipated film.
