KATHMANDU, Aug 28: District Administrative Office has lifted the imposed curfew in Mahendranagar from five AM on Tuesday morning.  The administration has lifted the curfew, imposed since five days till further notice. The decision came as civil unrest since past few days has come to normal in Mahendranagar.

MAHENDRANAGAR, Aug 25: Accusing that police have been attempting to protect the person involved in the rape and murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta, the locals and Panta’s family members have demanded investigation against the police team led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Dilli Bista.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The 12-hour curfew imposed in Mahendranagar from Thursday evening has been lifted. The District Security Committee lifted the curfew at 6 AM today. A curfew was clamped from 5 PM yesterday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Lawmakers have demanded serious investigations into the murder after the rape of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta, in Kanchanpur district earlier this month. They drew the attention of parliament to the eruption of protests in the district  Thursday.
