Scarlett Johansson is suing the Walt Disney Co. over its streaming release of “Black Widow,” which she said breached her contract and deprived her of potential earnings.

“Black Widow” ceded its No. 1 spot to an unlikely foe in its second week in theaters: The Tune Squad.

Even with an option to watch “Black Widow” at home, audiences went to the movie theater in pandemic record numbers this weekend to catch the first Marvel movie released in two years.

Scarlett Johansson has had quite a bit of time to think about a “ Black Widow ” movie. After all, she’s played the character in seven movies spanning 10 years.

The Walt Disney Co. on Tuesday overhauled its upcoming film release plans, postponing some of its biggest films and shifting Marvel’s “Black Widow,” among other titles, to Disney+ the same time they arrive in theaters.

Disney Studios has announced the new release dates for its much-awaited movies Black Widow and Mulan which were pushed after theatres were closed in many countries across the globe due to coronavirus pandemic.

"Black Widow", starring Scarlett Johansson, has been pulled by Marvel Studios in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.  The Cate Shortland-directed film, which was scheduled to be released on May 1, is delayed until further notice, reported Deadline.
