World Day for Safety and Health at Work being observed today

KATHMANDU, April 28: World Day for Safety and Health at Work is being observed today. This day is celebrated every year on April 28.

This day is celebrated worldwide to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases.

The International Labor Organization (ILO) started celebrating World Day in 2003 to raise the political profile of occupational health and safety and to fulfill the integral 'advocacy' component of their global strategy on occupational safety and health.

Occupational health covers the physical, mental and social well-being of workers while preventing workplace hazards.
