RPP mayoral candidate Rana ahead of his nearest rival by 3814 votes

NEPALGUNJ, July 3: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) mayoral candidate Dhawal Shamsher Rana continues to take the lead in the mayoral race in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City.

He has secured 9983 votes, compared to 6169 votes obtained by his closest rival Nepali Congress mayoral candidate Suresh Kumar Kanodiya.

CPN-UML mayoral candidate Sam Suddin Siddiki is in the third position. He has obtained 5896 votes.

However, NC deputy mayoral candidate Uma Thapa Magar is taking the lead in the race for the deputy mayor. She has obtained 7865 votes while her nearest rival RPP deputy mayoral candidate Rama Rani Baishya has garnered 7033 votes.

CPN-UML deputy mayoral candidate Shanti Dhakal who is in the third position has got 6596 votes.

There are 23 wards in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City. About 75 percent of total votes cast have been counted by Monday morning, Chief Returning Officer Tej Narayan Paudel told Republica Online.
