KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has issued immediate directives to the agencies concerned for expeditious relief efforts in response to the earthquake that struck Bajhang.

These instructions were delivered during the 12th meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), convened by Prime Minister Dahal to assess the situation following the earthquake in Bajhang on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Dahal has urged the relevant agencies to promptly provide assistance to the earthquake-affected people and initiate the necessary procedures for financial support and the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.

He emphasized the importance of integrated and coordinated efforts involving all three levels of government, civil society, political parties, and the public in addressing the crisis triggered by natural disasters.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Dahal reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring an adequate supply of relief, rescue, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and reconstruction services. It is reported that one person lost their life, and 11 individuals sustained injuries in the Bajhang earthquake.
