Oli warns Speaker Sapkota not to threaten UML lawmakers

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: CPN (UML) chairperson and parliamentary party leader KP Sharma Oli has warned Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota against threatening UML lawmakers.

Speaking at a meeting of the parliamentary party on Tuesday, Chairman Oli warned Speaker Sapkota not to threaten his party's lawmakers.

He also objected that while his party's lawmakers were protesting in parliament, Sapkota said that the rules would be drawn. Saying that the time to make threats had passed, Chairman Oli warned Speaker Sapkota not to try to scare the elephants by producing sound out of bamboo trays (Nanglo).

Chairman Oli warned Speaker Sapkota not to use provocative language such as ‘he would remove them as members of parliament’, ‘the rules would be drawn’ and ‘action would be taken’.
