Nepse gains 21.30 points, daily turnover declines to 938.92 million

KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday added 21.30 points to close at 1,847.54 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,826.23 points and fell to the day’s low at 1,825.82 points in around the first seven minutes of trading. The market then surged by around 18 points and remained stable for around two hours.

The index hit the day’s high at 1,850.59 points in the last 25 minutes. The market slid by around three points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also gained 3.33 points. The daily turnover marginally declined to Rs 938.92 million from Rs 972.36 million on Sunday. 

All the 13 groups were successful in adding to their market values in the intraday trading. Non-life insurance got 221.55 points, while hotels and tourism, and life insurance got 181.65 points and 113.61 points, respectively.

Among individual companies, the market values of 199 companies increased whereas 32 companies posted a loss in their indices.

Soaltee Hotel Limited had a transaction of Rs 64.320 million and stood at the top of the transaction volume list. Hathway Investment Nepal Limited was the top gainer while Laxmi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 4.28 percent of its market price.
