NEPSE closes Q2 of current FY with a gain of 31.62 points; daily turnover increases to Rs 5.45 billion

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) posted a double-digit gain of 31.62 points while 11 listed companies witnessed positive circuit on the last day of the first half of the current fiscal year on Sunday.

On Sunday, the market that opened at 2,088.99 points soared to the day’s high at 2,121.67 points in the first one and a half hours of trading. In the next moment, the market lost around five points and remained stable before it rose again in the last few minutes.  

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also added 4.02 points. The daily turnover amount inclined to Rs 5.45 billion from Rs 4.307 billion on Thursday.

Only trading, and hotels and tourism out of the 13 groups were losers. Hydropower posted the largest gain of 116.57 points.

Among individual companies, 211 were recorded as gainers whereas 33 were losers.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited Promoter shares had its largest turnover worth Rs 356.8 million. Himalayan Power Partner Ltd gained the highest of 10 percent of its market price. Mega Mutual Fund-1 lost the highest of 9.53 percent.
