Mithila region has special place in history: President Bhandari

JANAKPURDHAM, Nov 22: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has said that the Mithila region has a special place in the history of Nepal. 

Inaugurating the newly-constructed Matihani Stadium and other structures in Matihani Municipality of Mahottari District on Monday, President Bhandari said, "This land of Janak, Sita and famous Maithili writer Vidyapati is a source of inspiration for all of us." She also said that the development of roads, drinking water, sanitation and infrastructure would enhance the beauty of this historic place and make it an attractive tourist destination.

President Bhandari also said that the Chure range is the lifeline for the Terai and that the sustainable development of the Chure and the development of the Madhesh are deeply intertwined. President Bhandari also thanked Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut for his popular and effective work in bringing Beti Bachau program for the upliftment of women.
