Himalaya Airlines provides financial support to Lowa Prasad Bal Griha

KATHMANDU, Aug 4:  Himalaya Airlines, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility has generously contributed to the renovation of the kitchen and dining facilities of Lowa Prasad Bal Griha, a non-governmental and non-political organization operated by Lowa Prasad Sudhar Sangh under the airline company’s "Step Towards Education” campaign. The child welfare center provides a safe haven for orphaned and underprivileged children, reads a statement issued by the airliner.

During a function held at the orphanage on Thursday, Himalaya Airlines' President, Zhou Enyong, presented a check of Rs 396,000 to the chairperson of the orphanage, Usha Karki. 

In addition to the financial support, the airline also gifted kitchen cutlery sets, sketchbooks, and a variety of sports kits, including cricket sets, carrom boards, badminton sets, basketballs, ludo, skipping ropes, hula hoops, and more, to enrich the lives of the young children. Currently, the organization shelters and nurtures a total of 13 children in Sundarijal.

The funds provided by Himalaya Airlines will be used to renovate the kitchen and dining area, which will help in creating a more comfortable and conducive environment for the children to stay.

"Base in Nepal and serve in Nepal" has been the unwavering commitment of Himalaya Airlines, and through this latest contribution to Lowa Prasad Bal Griha, the airline aims to enhance the living conditions for these children and empower them to become valuable contributors to the nation's future, said Zhou Enyong, President of Himalaya Airlines in a statement released by the company.

Usha Karki expressed her deep appreciation for the airline's thoughtful gesture, especially the donation of sports equipment, which will help cultivate the children's interest in various physical activities.

Himalaya Airlines said it has consistently demonstrated its dedication to corporate social responsibility, having previously supported Prayas Nepal, a home for orphaned and underprivileged children, by providing educational and essential supplies annually over the past seven years.
