Dozen of houses waterlogged after incessant rainfall

KANCHANPUR, Sept 25: Around one dozen houses of Mahakali municipality in Kanchanpur district have been inundated due to the rainfall that occurred from Monday. 

The flood on Jogbudha river entered to Sundarnagar of Mahakali municipality-8 this morning and four houses, as well as eight shops, have been waterlogged due to this. 

According to the Area Police Office, Dodhara Chandani, some houses in Kutiyakbar area have also been inundated and the victims have been shifted to safer places. 

Police Inspector Narendra Bahadur Chand said that although the village has been waterlogged after the flood entered into the settlement, no human casualty was reported. 

He further said that a suspension bridge was at the risk due to an encroachment of river. Locals and police personnel are now constructing a temporary embankment to save the bridge.  RSS
