Class 12 exam starts today with participation of over 390,000 candidates

KATHMANDU, April 26: Grade 12 exam has started from today from 8AM to 11AM. The examination will conclude on May 8. 

The National Examination Board (NEB) has urged students to approach the exams confidently.

According to the NEB,  a total of 390,847 examinees are participating in this year's exams. The number includes 196,914 female students and 193,933 male students. 

Additionally, 100,650 students are set to participate in grade increment exams. A total of 5,542 schools nationwide will be represented in the Class 12 exams.

NEB has designated 1,525 examination centers across the country and 1,526 centers outside, including one in Japan. Kathmandu holds 144 examination centers, with one each in Manang-Mustang. This year marks the first time Kathmandu's examination centers have been determined through an automated system.

A workforce of 34,171 individuals, including 18,300 policemen, have been mobilized for exam administration, comprising center presidents, assistant center presidents, inspectors, employees, and office assistants.

Logistics, including the delivery of necessary materials and answer books to exam centers, have been completed. The question paper will be delivered online, accompanied by a 'time password' for security measures.
