'A' division league to be held outside Kathmandu for the first time

POKHARA, Dec 16: The Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League Football Tournament will be held outside Kathmandu for the first time in the history of the game. After 67 years of the league, the tournament is set to be held in Pokhara.

The tournament will be held at Pokhara as Manang Marsyangdi Club, which is one of the clubs in the league, has made Pokhara Stadium its home ground.

The first match of the league will be played at Pokhara Stadium next Saturday, in which Manang Marsyangdi and Nepal Police Club will face each other. Similarly, Manang will play against Brigade Boys of Kathmandu on January 1 under the seventh phase and with Chyasal Club of Kathmandu under the eighth phase on January 8 at Pokhara Stadium, according to ANFA.

The Martyrs' Memorial 'A' Division League Football Tournament was started in 2011 BS. In the meantime, 38 editions have been completed. However, not a single league game has been played outside Kathmandu till now.
