KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has requested the ordinary public to notify them if any individuals or internet and mobile service providers are found to be using the banned Chinese app TikTok. They urge the public to report instances where internet service providers or mobile service provider networks are still allowing access to TikTok in violation of the NTA's instructions.

The NTA had previously directed all internet and mobile service providers to promptly block access to TikTok, emphasizing that failure to comply with this directive would result in action being taken. Despite these instructions, there has been a surge in the unauthorized use of TikTok following the government's ban on the app.

The NTA is particularly concerned about the growing use of TikTok through VPNs and DNS servers, and they request increased vigilance in monitoring and reporting such activities. They emphasize that strict measures will be taken against those who fail to adhere to the ban on TikTok.
