SARLAHI, Sept 10: The curfew earlier imposed on Malangwa of Sarlahi district has been lifted. The District Administration Office (DAO), Sarlahi, has lifted the curfew imposed from Saturday and issued a prohibitory order for three more days.
The DAO had issued a curfew from Saturday evening till 8 AM on Sunday to prevent the tension between the two communities from increasing during the idol burial on Krishna Ashtami.
Indradev Yadav, head of District Coordination Committee, Sarlahi, said that despite the curfew being lifted, there is a possibility of a clash between the two sides.
According to Assistant Chief District Officer of Sarlahi, Hom Prasad Ghimire, a prohibition order has been issued in the Malangwa city area, Bhim River in the east, Musaili canal in the west, Nepal-India border area in the south and police post or petrol pump in the north.
A clash broke out between two groups in Malangwa's old bus park area during the burying of the Krishna Janmashtami idol on Friday evening. There was also a clash on Saturday afternoon over the same issue.
