Singer and writer Jagat Mardan Thapa died while undergoing medical treatment at Norvik Hospital in the capital at 10 am Monday. He was infected with Covid-19 a month ago, had recovered and returned to normal life.

KATHMANDU, April 3: The 'Mainali Fiction Honour' has been conferred on fiction writer Bijaya Sagar. At the 37th fiction day organised by Nepal Academy and Literary Journalists Association on Tuesday, the award instituted in memory of noted fiction writer Guru Prasad Mainali was handed to literary writer Sagar.
Nepali writer and journalist, Aswini Koirala was recently honored in Japan for his outstanding contribution in the field of Nepali literature and journalism. He was felicitated at the International Nepali Haiku Convention 2018. The program was jointly organized by World Haiku Organization, International Nepali Literary Society and Japan Chapter in Nepali Embassy, Japan, as per the press statement released by Koirala.
Subin Bhattarai rose to fame with his love trilogy ‘Summer Love’, ‘Saaya’, and ‘Monsoon’. He found commercial success from the first part of his trilogy and then completed the love novel in 2016. Since his books have a fair share of romance and love; the youths are tempted toward his writings. Owing to that fact, he is considered Chetan Bhagat of Nepal. Bhattarai recently released his fifth book, ‘Priya Sufi’.
KATHMANDU, Mar 6: Renowned litterateur Indra Bahadur Rai, who is also one of those who propounded the Lila Lekhan and Teshro Aayam style in Nepali literature, passed away Tuesday evening in Siliguri, West Bengal in India.
I dream to be a writer because I know how to write, but every time I look at the mirror, I think I am not and cannot be a writer. My behavior, attitude, and appearance do not match with what I think writers should have. They have different perception, characteristics, nobility, attitude, and appearance. Most importantly, they have, I think, innate skills to write phrases and verses that are always remembered in the history. Being jealous to them, I also want to be a writer.
Amardeep Keshari is a 23 year old writer from Kalaiya, Bara. Though he graduated from Wesleyan University in the US as a neuroscientist, he later decided to pursue a writing career. He is currently living in Shantinagar with his brother.
