KATHMANDU, March 30: Newly re-elected President Bidhya Devi Bhandari's maiden address to the bicameral parliament Thursday proved a tiresome experience for commuters after security force emptied the six-lane highways to "make suitable way for the head of state".
CHITWAN, August 13: While floods and landslides have claimed dozens of life and displaced hundreds of people across the country, Sauraha, a prime tourist hub has also been unaffected equally. Swollen Rapti and Budhi rivers have inundated areas near their banks and floods have entered settlements. There are 110 tourist hotels and dozens of restaurant in Sauraha and all of these have been flooded to varied extent.
KATHMANDU, August 12: At least 30 people are now confirmed killed and hundreds of families are displaced in floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall since Friday in various parts of the country.
MELAMCHI, July 8: The flood that continuously occurred since Tuesday following heavy rain in Sindhupalchowk district and bordering Tibetan zone has wreaked havoc in Liping and Gati of Tatopani of the district.
