Woman beaten on charges of witchcraft

BIRATNAGAR, Oct 29: A woman of Biratnagar-8 has been severely beaten on the charge of being a witch. According to the victim, she was beaten by four men on the charge of witchcraft.

KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Kusundi, a remote village in Siraha district, is gripped by a different kind of fear. It is not the coronavirus pandemic, but 'a witch who can make them fall sick just by an evil spell' that has ‘bothered’ the village people. The villagers avoid passing through a certain house, 'where the witch lives'. Even throwing a glance into the direction of the house is considered a risk.

SAPTARI, Sept 21: A woman was beaten badly by the locals for allegedly practicing witchcraft at Kusundi of Nawarajpur-5 in Siraha district on September 14. She is currently receiving treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
