KATHMANDU, Feb 15: This year's winter season is just two weeks away from coming to an end. According to meteorologists, December, January and February are considered winter months. These three months are the coldest in the year. There is usually at least one winter rain during this season.

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Experts have suggested that the government should take precautions in food security as the lack of winter rain due to climate change may cause problems in the food cycle.

Recently, a team of government officials including employees of the Department of Environment, Department of Transport Management and Metropolitan Traffic Police Division conducted an on-the-spot pollution test of vehicles at Babarmahal in the capital. According to the employees involved in the test, over two-thirds of the vehicles failed the pollution test which means they were running in conditions below the prescribed standards for air pollution in the country.

KATHMANDU, Dec 4: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has so far issued climbing permits to two expedition teams for this winter season. The teams will attempt to climb two mountains namely Mt Luza Peak and Mt Kyungya Ri 2.

DARCHULA, Nov 18: Chhangru and Tinkar areas in Byas Rural Municipality adjoining the tri-junction of Nepal, India and China in Darchula district, have witnessed heavy snowfall in recent days.
