KATHMANDU, March 11: Price of wheat flour that almost doubled in the past six months has started moving downhill after India eased restrictions on wheat exports to Nepal.

KATHMANDU, March 6: Food Management and Trading Company and Salt Trading Corporation Limited have started wheat import process from India. The two state-owned companies are going to import wheat from India for the first time.

Govt fixes support price of wheat

KATHMANDU, Feb 26: The government has determined the support price of wheat. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on February 23 decided to fix the price of wheat at Rs 3,351 per quintal for the fiscal year 2079/080.

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: The Nepal Flour Mills Association has demanded that the government immediately procure 50,000 metric tons of wheat from the Indian government. Since flour mills will run and all sectors will benefit from the availability of wheat, the Association has also requested the government to immediately proceed with the process of importing wheat instead of importing flour.

India lifts ban on wheat export to Nepal

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: India has lifted the ban it had enforced on export of wheat to Nepal some five months ago. On Thursday, India issued a permission to import 50,000 tons of wheat.
