Shyam Badan Shrestha worked as a teacher for 13 years, teaching Science and occasionally Nepali too. During those days, whenever she was done with work she would start knitting or weaving. That was how she would unwind after a long day at work. In 1984, she took her hobby a bit further and started Nepal Knotcraft Centre, initially operating from a small room at home.

SINDHUPALCHOWK, July 11: Thirty eight years old Punu Tamang of Lisankhu, Pakhar-5, Jethal, was a simple laborer as early as five months ago. She used to work as a rug designer for an entrepreneur for a limited wage. The owner used to take all the profits while she received only a little amount.

Personally I feel writers should research more before working on their books. We write about common folks but we do so with detachment. It’s almost like peeking from a 12th floor of a building and writing about how a man on the ground feels.
