He claims he wants to experience the geography and culture up close and interact with the locals and for that traveling on foot is the best option. And that’s what he has done. Iih has traveled from east to west Nepal on foot, braving injuries and surviving an almost fatal accident. Here he shares his experiences.

KATHMANDU, April 23: NMB Bank organized 7th NMB Bank Heritage Walk 2018 on Saturday. Like in the past years, the bank organized awareness walk and cleaned heritage sites across the country, according to a statement issued on Sunday.

This Thursday, locals of Chasan near Basantapur, Kathmandu, were seen taking selfies and photographs in front of wall-arts painted on their houses. There was an air of great fun and excitement as they were rejoicing and discussing the beautiful realistic art that was just created on their houses. They were saying how those artworks truly represented the area.

KATHMANDU, April 15: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office is organizing Hanumandhoka Durbar Square World Heritage to Swoyambhu World Heritage Walk and various other cultural programs on the occasion of World Heritage Day. I’m walking alone in the night. Alone on the empty street. A strange light is hovering above me. My shadow is dancing around me- along with the shadows of the trees. The wind is whistling past the leaves and an insect is shrieking. There is a strange hissing sound but that’s probably coming from my nose. Other than that there is silence. Chilling Silence.

Some of students who had arrived were either basking in the Sun or playing.  After the earthquake of April 25, 2015 destroyed their two room classroom, students have been studying under the open sky. I still remember the day I landed in the JFK Airport, New York. My cousin was there to receive me at the airport. Coming back to that day, I remember being exhilarated by the scenery in New York. I went exploring NY while we had a transit there. I was instantly captivated by the towering buildings. I shamelessly bent my whole body to get a glimpse of the top of the building; it was the NY Times’ Building. I thought Asan Chowk was a crowded place, but New York was a different story altogether.

On June 16, the Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) published the results of the first Secondary Education Examination (SEE), previously known as the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams. Since then, SEE graduates have been wandering around in groups in order to check out colleges. After the publication of the results, colleges, especially those in the cities, have been flocked with students who have come from different corners of the country to find a college that is good enough for them.
