KATHMANDU, May 12: Visitors in large number stood in a queue to receive herbal medicines distributed on the premises of Bauddhanath Stupa on Saturday.

CHITWAN, Jan 30: Despite of the poor shape of Mugling-Narayanghat road, which affected movement of tourists, as well as Rapti River floods, the number of tourists visiting Chitwan National Park increased over the first half of the current fiscal year.

Kriti sat abruptly on her bed, frightened. She gripped the thin bed sheets tightly with her trembling hands. Her bed sheet was drenched in sweat. The window just above her was flinging in and out. The hot summer night wind was gushing into the room. The squeaking sound of the window was very unnerving. Hovering above her were strange shadows dancing on the ceiling. She jumped on her bed and quickly fastened the window.

GORKHA, Nov 6: The number of visitors to the historical Gorkha Museum is on the rise. According to Suchana Bhadel, the spokesperson of the museum, more than 16,000 people have already visited the museum in the first three months of the current fiscal year, compared to 11,000 tourists in the same period of the last fiscal year.

MUGU, August 27: Tourist footfall in Rara Laka - the biggest lake in the country - has remained more or less at the same level over the past five years.
