KATHMANDU, March 16: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, has issued a video message urging all parents and guardians to ensure their children receive vaccinations against measles and rubella during the government's ongoing vaccination campaign.

It’s why vaccinations are still recommended for people with immune systems weakened by disease or certain medications. It’s also important that your family, friends and caregivers get vaccinated, which will make it far less likely that they pass on the virus.

Over 1.5 million children die every year from vaccine-preventable diseases. A study shows that the lifelong return on funding vaccine programmes is far higher than other investments.
