MYAGDI, Feb 23: A motorable bridge over Lo Manthang River along the Kaligandaki corridor in Upper Mustang has been constructed. With the construction of the bridge, the road network along the Beni-Jomsom-Korola has become more accessible.

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: The number of tourists visiting Upper Mustang has increased. According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), the number of tourists visiting the area has surged in 2023 compared to 2022 and the government has earned Rs 229.14 million.

MYAGDI, Sept 20: With the availability of high speed internet, locals in the Upper Mustang are now relieved from the hassles they faced in communicating with friends and family members living both within and outside the county.

POKHARA, Nov 6: Locals have called for construction of airport at Tsarang in Upper Mustang, stating that an airport there would promote religious and adventurous tourism in the country’s northern district. The proposed area lies 3,700 meters above sea level.

“I travel because it makes me feel free and unrestricted. It has taught me to treasure the small moments that make up my life and not to cling on to the concept of forever,” says Anima Piya. MYAGDI, Sept 22: Pashupati Silwal, a trader from Kathmandu, reached Upper Mustang for fetching sheep and mountain goats for Dashain, the great festival of Nepalis that is just round the corner.

Samde Sherpa vividly remembers walking along the Annapurna Circuit as a 15-year-old. And ironically, he didn’t like it very much. The year was 2004 and he was accompanying his uncle who was acting as a trekking guide to a French team. “It was too much walking for me back then,” he recalls. However, after he returned home from the trip, he felt this sense of peace and calm like never before. And so, he decided he would go back to the hills and mountains as an adult.

LO-MANTHANG, Sept 9: Flies and mosquitoes were alien to the highlands of upper Mustang until some time ago. These days, the sighting of the insects has become quite common in the settlements of Lo Manthang, which lies 3800 meters above the sea level.

LAMJUNG, July 15: Yartung, probably the only one-of-a-kind horse riding festival in the country, was celebrated in the high hills of Upper Mustang last week.

POKHARA, March 14: It has been revealed that not a single animal which perished during a heavy snowfall in Mustang few days ago was insured.

MUSTANG, Feb 24:  Transport in the Upper Mustang has remained affected for past one month as mass of snow has covered the roadway.

MUSTANG, Nov 5: The Nepal Army (NA) has set up a camp at Lomanthang of upper Mustang. The army camp was established under the leadership of NA’s Major nearby Korala check point – the bordering area of China’s autonomous region Tibet – on Sunday. It is nearly 26-km to the Nepali land from Korala checkpoint.
