Speaking at the 20th annual day of Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (Sejon) in the capital on Friday, governor Nepal said that there are now only 120 local units where commercial banks are yet to open their branch offices.

KATHMANDU, Oct 7: Local level units and provinces will get 25 percent each of the royalty collected on the use of natural resources, according to the bill on Inter-Governmental Financial Management  endorsed on Friday. The remaining 50 percent remains with the central government.

The four-wheelers were demanded for chief, deputy chief and secretary of each municipality and rural municipality, according to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD).

KATHMANDU, Sep 5: Rastriya Janat party Nepal (RJPN) has finalized its candidates for the post of chief of 109 local units and deputy chiefs of 78 of the total 136 local units in eight districts of Province-2 for the September 18 local polls amid rows and disputes. The largest Madhes-based political party is yet to finalize its candidates for 22 local units though there just a day to go before the candidacy nomination date set by the Election Commission.
