KATHMANDU, Dec 8: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) exported electricity worth Rs 7.55 billion to India during the period from mid-July to November of the current financial year, but the construction work of the transmission line connecting another neighboring country, China, has been delayed for seven years. After the Indian blockade in 2015, the Nepal government proposed an international transmission line connecting to China to reduce the country’s dependence on India.
KATHMANDU, Oct 10: The Ramechhap (Garjyang)-New Khimti 132 kilovolt (kV) double circuit transmission line project has been constructed for the transmission of the electricity produced by the hydropower projects in the Khimti and Likhu river watershed areas.
SURKHET, August 22: If there were no park and forest area along the Kohalpur-Surkhet transmission line, 132 kV electricity would have reached Karnali by September 15. Even though there is an agreement to complete it in two years, it is not known how many more years it will take for the 132 kV transmission line to enter Karnali.
KATHMANDU, June 12: Power generation by some hydropower projects has been stopped to lay wires from the newly constructed towers on the Mid-Marsyangdi-Marsyangdi transmission line, which was affected by last year's floods and landslides.

KATHMANDU, March 18: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal inaugurated two substations located at Butwal and Kapilvastu on Thursday. Bhusal inaugurated the 132-33-11 KV Motipur substation constructed in Banganga Municipality-7 of Kapilvastu as well as 220-132 KV New Butwal substation constructed in Sunwal Municipality-13 of Nawalparasi.
KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Three substations will be constructed at Lapsiphedi, Ratamata, and Damauli with USD 500 million grant to be provided under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The substation at Ratamata in Nuwakot district will connect to the proposed 400 KV Rasuwagadhi-Kerung transmission line. Similarly, the proposed 400 KV Butwal-Gorakhpur transmission line will link with the 22 kilometers inter-country transmission line of Nepal and India.
BENI, Jan 7: A contract agreement has been signed for the construction of the Dandakhet-Rahughat Transmission Line Project of 132 KV capacity. The transmission line is being developed by Nepal Electricity Authority.
KATHMANDU, August 17: The construction of the first section of Koshi Corridor 220 KV transmission line has concluded. The transmission line is expected to help evacuate around 2,000 MW of electricity produced by hydropower projects based on Arun River and Tamor River basins.
RASUWA, April 14: The nationwide lockdown has affected the construction works at Chilime Trishuli 220 KV transmission line due to the lack of workers and construction materials. The project had not been able to import construction materials after the outbreak of the coronavirus in China.
RASUWA, Feb 23: The work of testing load flow from the Nepali side has been completed. The test is a necessary step toward the import and export of electricity from China after the construction of the inter-country transmission line, according to Nepal Electricity Authority.

TIKAPUR, Oct 12: The under-construction 6-lane road in Tikapur has been affected by the Nepal Electricity Authority’s (NEA) 33 KV transmission line. The construction has been affected as the authority has delayed shifting the poles of the transmission line.

RASUWA, Aug 3: Additional 30 megawatt of Upper Trishuli 3A has been connected to the national transmission line. According to Fanindra Joshi, chief of the project, total 60 megawatt of the project has been connected to the system including the 30 megawatt added Friday morning.
PANCHTHAR, March 19: Even after the passing of the fourth extended deadline, the Kabeli Corridor Transmission Line which was to connect the electricity produced in the eastern hilly districts to the central grid still awaits completion. The latest deadline was February 7 this year.
