KATHMANDU, May 15: The Human Trafficking Control Section at the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens (MoWCSC) is planning to work on the concluding observations made in November 2018 by the UN CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against women) Committee on Nepal's sixth periodic report.
KATHMANDU, April 17: A Kenyan court has charged a man of Indian origin holding dual passport of Great Britain and Canada with sex trafficking of 12 Nepali women. The man in question owns a club in Kenyan city of Mombasa from where Nepali women were rescued earlier this week.
SURKHET, March 31: District Police Office here has registered 64 cases related to drug trafficking and drug abuse combined in the recent eight months. The District Police arrested 109 persons- 14 women and 95 men- in this connection and initiated investigation for the action.

ILAM, July 20: The Indian gateway to eastern Nepal, Pashupatinagar has become the main 'transit' for human trafficking in recent days .Despite being aware that human trafficking through Pashupatinagar is much higher than through other customs points along the eastern border, the authorities concerned have turned a blind eye to this. By taking advantage of the open border, human traffickers sell people to India and many other countries by citing various reasons such as foreign employment, health, meeting relatives among others. According to Maiti Nepal, this customs point is used for trafficking girls and boys from as many as 52 districts including Ilam.
It’s easy to cross the border between Nepal and India. Too easy. Most of its 1,600km is marked by simple, 30cm-high concrete piles. There is no wall, no fence, no barbed wire. In fact, some farmers have fields that are part in Nepal and part in India.
KOHALPUR, March 30: On May 15, 2016, a 19-year-old girl of Sindhupalchowk was rescued by police from Kohalpur bus station. Lakpa Sonam Lama, 36, and Dindu Tamang, 26 of Sindhupalchowk were caught red-handed while transporting the girl to India. They had persuaded the girl into travelling with them to India luring her with good job. They had successfully crossed all the check points while leaving their home district. After a tip-off, police reached the spot and nabbed them.

UDAYAPUR, Dec 24: Police in Udayapur district have arrested as many as 122 people suspected of being involved in drug smuggling and usage. Among the arrested, District Police Office (DPO), Udayapur has filed cases against 56 suspects in the district court.
KATHMANDU, Dec 21: A Malaysian court has acquitted a Nepali migrant worker on drug trafficking charges. Bhim Bahadur Nepali of Siraha district, who worked as a security guard in Malaysia, was charged with trafficking drugs a year ago. The Malaysian laws deem drug smuggling illegal and slap a capital punishment.
