After much controversy over the awarding of the project to an Indian consortium, the government in 2016 decided to build the 76-km Kathmandu-Tarai Expressway on its own. Following this decision, the project was handed over to Nepal Army. As the army has a good track record on such projects, this was greeted with approval by a large section of the society.

She started earning for the family ever since. Though she is unable to earn much, she says the income is just enough to feed herself. Her sons earn for the rest of the family. She says spiritual practice has helped her to be content in life after her husband’s death. Sita had joined Om Shanti to divert her mind from the grief of her husband’s loss and the practice has now become her daily routine. She works from around 10 in the morning till six in the evening. Having faced turbulent times in the past, she says her life is currently on track and that she is happy with whatever she has.
