SOLUKHUMBU, Dec 11: Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality has earned Rs 49.7 million from tourism fee in this tourist season. On a monthly breakdown, Rs 8 million was collected in September, Rs 26.6 million in October, and Rs 15.1 million in November.
Ilam sees a big influx of tourists, especially during September and October. The eastern province of Nepal -- notable for tea plantation -- is also renowned as a religious destination. In addition to embracing natural beauties the region holds, a large number of devotees also visit Ilam citing its religious values.
RASUWA, Aug 26: The number of pilgrims visiting Gosaikunda, a high-altitude tourist destination as well as a popular Hindu religious site, has been increasing in recent years. Almost 3,000 pilgrims have reached the place in the past week, particularly to observe the Janai Purnima festival. The festival runs for 10 days.
KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Tourist arrivals in 2018 has continued to break the old records of the country. Recording a remarkable growth of 18 percent in the first seven month of 2018, tourist arrival reached 593,299, according to a report compiled by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). The number was 502,544 in the corresponding period of 2017.

POKHARA, July 7: The Gandaki provincial government has said that it would start preparation for maintaining database of foreign tourists visiting Pokhara city. Local authorities have been saying that around 40 percent of total tourists visiting Nepal travel to Pokhara. But this is just a conservative estimate. There is no mechanism so far to calculate number of tourists visiting Pokhara.

MYAGDI, May 11: A digital tourist information center has been established in the district headquarters of Myagdi, Beni, with the aim to provide information about agricultural productions and religious and tourist destinations of the district.
DHARAN, May 2: Thousands of tourists visit Sauti River of Bagarkot, Dharan to enjoy the nature and to have barbeque in the jungle. But only few of them reach the temple of Jal Kanya Devi temple, a beautiful hidden treasure situated at Jhorpata, just one and half kilometers from the river. This temple can be reached in two minutes on motorbike and around 15 minutes on foot.
Nepal is rich in natural diversity. It will be unfortunate for us if we are not able to utilize its full potential in sustainable ways to develop socioeconomic condition of places abundant with natural diversity. Two such important destinations blessed by nature are Pokhara and Chitwan.

KATHMANDU, April 16: Some 300 thousand tourists arrived by air route to Nepal in the first three months of 2018, the latest figures on tourist arrivals by air route released by the Department of Immigration show.
Nestled among the beautiful hills of Panchthar district, Miklajung has a great potential for becoming a tourist hub. Surrounding the area are rivulets running between the hills, forming a spectacular landscape.
