NEPALGUNJ, Dec 28: With mercury dipping, the children from the economically backward community have been hit hard. The children staying in various brick kilns with their parents are suffering from common cold, pneumonia and so on due to cold wave in recent days.
SAPTARI, Dec 24: Dipping temperature and cold wave have affected normal life in the tarai districts. Several schools have declared holiday while flow of patients at hospitals has remarkably increased. According to the district education office, over 102 schools have been shut down due to excessive cold.
BARA, April 8: Krishna Sah, 35, of Kalaiya Sub-metropolitan city lost his home to the first ever tornado recorded in Nepal that struck the central part of the southern plains of the nation on March 31. Since then, he has been reduced to spending his nights in the meager segment of the shed originally built for his livestock. With him, his livestock and the relief materials he has received from various agencies cover a majority of the shed.
Despite the pollution and the social injustices, Nepal is one of the best destinations for the people to travel. Going to the college after a long vacation of Dashain-Tihar is somehow wacky. You see how exclusively your friends’ appearances have changed. Some get back flabby and stunned; some show up drastically tanned. You can’t see half of your pals on the first day cause they’re still busy celebrating and a bunch of guys skip the first two days.
