KATHMANDU, Nov 27: The government has once again backed away from a decision to crack down on ride-sharing, following widespread public criticism.

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Nepal Meter Taxi Entrepreneurs’ Association (NMTEA), an umbrella organization of registered taxis, is mulling over operating app-based tax services like Pathao and Uber in the capital. Their move comes after Pathao, an app-based ride-hailing service, last week launched its taxi service by including registered cabs and private cars.

I was going for my dad’s treatment at Fatima Healing Center last week. We were headed toward Bhatbhateni from Maitidevi on a taxi.  Our taxi driver, like every other cabby in Kathmandu, asked us to pay more than the metered price. We denied giving extra, but he insisted on charging additional. We refused again; he started using foul words on us. I got furious. I said that I would call the police on him.

Man found murdered in taxi

BHAKTAPUR, Nov 8: A man of around 40 years of age was found murdered in Manahara of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality in Bhaktapur. His body was retrieved from a taxi (Ba 1 Jha 1040), the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi confirmed.
