KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Street vendors have surrounded the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) office. On Thursday, the vendors who came to the KMC office surrounded the office saying that the small street vendors were removed without being given an alternative.

KATHMANDU, August 23: The street vendors have protested in front of the office of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) with various demands. They started the protest after the KMC did not allow business on the footpath. Under the banner of the Independent Nationalist Self-employed Labor Struggle Committee, the street vendors protested in front of the KMC Office.

KATHMANDU, August 2: Street vendors have started removing their shops from the New Baneshwor area of ​​Kathmandu. After the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) issued a notice not to use the footpath area for business, parking and other purposes, the footpath business has started to disappear.

In the market squares of Sicily and Calabria, street vendors baste thick swordfish chops with a bright blend of lemon juice and olive oil, grilling them over smoldering coals and filling the air with an alluring mix of char and sweet. The simple, ancient combination is called salmoriglio, and it’s the primary way fish is served in southern Italy.

Not all urbanites have luxury of eating at homes because they have to work. They leave home early and stop by the roadside eateries or canteens for breakfast and lunch.  Many others pick food items from street vendors who cook and sell on the carts and earn livelihood through such small enterprises.
