KATHMANDU, Oct 20: Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has directed the concerned agencies to promptly rescue foreign tourists stranded in different parts of the country due to flooding, landslide and inundation after the incessant rains in the past few days.

KATHMANDU, April 12: Each morning at 11 am, Rameen Masumi and Arsalon Somanyan head for Hotel Northfield in Thamel to collect free food that the hotel has been distributing to foreigners stranded in the area as a result of the nationwide lockdown enforced by the government to contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Masumi and Somanian came from Iran for a month-long trip to Nepal.

KATHMANDU, March 31: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has stopped rescue operation of stranded tourists after bringing 1,331 foreigners from different places of Nepal to Kathmandu in five days. The national tourism promotion organization had started rescue operation since Thursday.

KATHMANDU, March 27: Five flights have been scheduled to fly to Lukla tomorrow morning to rescue the tourists who have left stranded there following the enforcement of nationwide lockdown by the government as an attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) said.
