KATHMANDU, Feb 5: In ancient times, when there was no legal system, the societies of Nepal were based on the belief system in the divine power, which manifested in the form of worshiping of deities and idols. Since time immemorial, Nepal has been enriched with unique cultural artifacts that reflect its history, origin, and the way of life. The cultural artifacts have been shaped with distinct characteristics of each dynasty, signifying historical achievements and the development of society.

KATHMANDU, Dec 25: The government is actively pursuing diplomatic initiatives to repatriate 137 stolen idols currently abroad to Nepal. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has revealed ongoing diplomatic efforts with countries such as the US, France, China, India, Australia, and the UK to facilitate the return of these cultural artifacts.

KATHMANDU, March 3: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale has said that he will take initiatives to bring back idols stolen from Nepal and smuggled to Foreign countries.

JUMLA, Feb 1: The recovery of the lost idol of Dattatreya has triggered an influx of visitors at Chandannath Temple of Jumla. There was a hue and cry in the district when 28 idols of the temple were stolen over three years ago. Consequently, many people had stopped offering worship at the temple after the idols went missing.
